Garden Learning

We currently provide garden coordination services to schools and school districts interested in creating flourishing school gardens. This includes: garden design, installation and maintenance support; facilitation of garden planning and teacher professional development; youth work experience programming; and delivery of hands-on classroom workshops with students K-12.

Support for Teachers

Our goal is to support school communities in creating flourishing, biodiverse school gardens that are well integrated into school culture and pedagogy. We encourage schools interested in support to contact us to set up a conversation about what we can do to help. Below is a sample of the kinds of resources and support we can offer.

Three Planting Seasons

We advise schools to think about three key planting seasons for school gardens:

  1. Spring: planting in late Feb-April for harvest by end of school year

  2. Summer: planting May-July for harvest in Fall

  3. Fall/Winter: planing Aug-Sept for harvest in Fall-Spring

Below are the three veggies we see most success with by season in school gardens. More information on how to grow each coming soon.
